
Daegu Metropolitan City - A ceremony was held on June 8 to celebrate the completion of the framework of the Daegu Trade Center, which is being constructed to accelerate trade and stimulate the economy of the Daegu region.
About 100 officials from trade-related organizations and enterprises in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region participated in the ceremony, including Daegu Mayor Kim Bum-il and Chairman Sakong il of Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
With commencement of construction in August last year, Daegu Trade Center is scheduled to be completed in February 2012. Featuring 18 stories and seven basement levels constructed on a total site area of 1,458m2 (total floor space: 24,195m2), the center will be the 11th largest in scale among rental office buildings in Daegu.
When completed, Daegu Trade Center will offer office space to trade-related organizations that are now spread throughout the region and provide one-stop services to trading companies.
Daegu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Daegu Main Customs, Daegu Technopark and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Design Center are already located in areas neighboring the Daegu Trade Center, and other trade-related organizations, such as DGFEZ Authority, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp., Daegu Bank and Korea Technology Finance Corp., have expressed the intention to locate in the center.
